We at NIKSA are changing…and it is for good.
After months of reviewing our guests’ usage of the bathroom supplies we provide at our Serviced Accommodation, we have realised that there is a lot of wastage.
Most of our guests only used a bit of the miniature shower supplies provided, and we were throwing them away in our bins, which resulted in a lot of plastic sent to our oceans.
According to National Geographic, 91% of plastic waste isn’t recycled, 73% of beach litter is plastic, and nearly one million plastic beverage bottles are sold every minute worldwide.
After hearing these statistics, we knew we needed to make change.
We at NIKSA are determined to make things better, not only for our guests but also for our environment, our planet and our future. Therefore, we have now decided that we will be providing our bathroom supplies in refillable bottles, which will be refilled after every guest. We of course still want to ensure that the product is of good quality that we provide our guests – but more ecological and economical.
Now that we at NIKSA have made some changes, it’s time for you to do the same. Here’s some tips on how:
- Carry a reusable cup for your tea or coffee stop
- Buy and carry metal straws with you
- Say no to glitter – glitter is essentially just tiny pieces of plastic that end up in the ocean
- Exchange your chewing gum for mints
- Bring back the milkman
Let’s make change, together.
